What we do

Carpetpro Cleaning Ltd - the services we offer

Carpet cleaning

Carpets start life as soft, beautiful floor coverings that add warmth and comfort to your home. But to stay that way, they need help. Everyday traffic from children, adults and pets brings dirt into your home, which works its way deep between the fibres of your carpets. They can soon begin to look dull and worn. Regular cleaning can keep carpets looking younger, longer, and will definitely add years to their lives.

Upholstery cleaning

Your sofa and chairs may not get walked on, but they, too, need care and attention if they are to keep their good looks. Dust, food particles and debris collect in the fabric of your suite over time, making it look dull and dirty. Careful cleaning can maintain and restore the colour and vibrancy of your furniture, complementing your freshly cleaned carpets!

Stain removal

Let's face it, in our busy lives, accidents will happen, especially if you have children and pets! But that doesn't mean you have to put up with a stain on your carpets and chairs. We can deal with most spills and stains safely and effectively.

Leather cleaning

Leather requires special attention to make sure it is cleaned effectively and safely. Different types of leather require different cleaning solutions, and great care must be taken not to damage special finishes.

Carpet protection

After a thorough professional clean, we recommend that carpets are treated with a specialist protector to help prevent them from becoming soiled again. It saves money too, as minor spills can be removed quickly by the homeowner without the need for another visit from the professionals until your next regular clean.

Upholstery protection

And your newly cleaned sofas and chairs can also be treated to protect them from the stains and spills that life inevitably throws at them.

FAQ

Carpetpro Cleaning Ltd - get answers to carpet and upholstery cleaning questions here

All of our FREE quotations are done on site.  I will:

  • identify the fibres and fabrics in your carpets and upholstery;

  • select the most appropriate, safe cleaning methods for your needs;

  • measure the area to be cleaned (in square metres for carpet, and numbers of seats for upholstery);

  • discuss with you the likely outcomes of any cleaning;

  • discuss with you any special requirements (e.g. moving of furniture, stain removal, etc.);

  • provide a quotation for the clean itself, plus an optional quote for any additional protection treatments you require;

  • answer any questions you may have about the process.
This will vary, depending on the size of the area that needs cleaning, or the number of seats in a suite, along with the level of soil and staining that requires treatment.  A single carpet may take one to two hours, whilst a whole house may take half a day or more.  Stairs and landings also tend to take longer to clean. I will always clean as quicky and efficiently as I can, but I promise not to compromise on the quality of the service we offer.

Some clients opt to leave me with a key for larger cleans, or so that I can clean your carpets and upholstery whilst you are out or at work.  I am fully enhanced DBS certified, so you can be sure your home is in safe hands.
Different fabrics and fibres, along with different cleaning methods and atmospheric conditions, mean that drying times will vary.  Most carpets and fabric upholstery will be dry enough for light use in two hours, but may not be fully dry for around six hours for upholstery, and until the next day for a deep pile carpet.  Leather will often be fully dry much more quickly, depending on the type.  As you would expect, dry, warm, sunny days in the summer reduce drying times considerably, whilst cooler and/or more humid days can extend drying times. I will use fans to speed things up as much as possible, and I use a specialist tool for fabric uphoilstery cleaning that cuts moisture levels and drying times to the absolute minimum.
You can, of course, elect to do this, and it does mean that every square centimetre of your carpet will be thoroughly cleaned, but there is no need to clear the room of its contents before I arrive, as I do move some furniture, and I can safely clean around items that need to be left in place.  However, we do ask that you clear the floor of any loose items (such as clothing and children's toys), and that any breakable items are removed from furniture that you would like me to move.
There is no need to vacuum your carpets before I arrive. I will always perform a thorough dry soil extraction using an industrial cleaner designed specifically for the task prior to hot water extraction or other cleaning methods.
Modern life is busy, and you may not be available during the working week. Talk to us when we visit to provide a quotation for your clean, and we can arrange for a weekend visit.

Schools and offices often cannot be cleaned during the week, so we are able to arrange to clean at the weekends or during school holidays where required.
If you would like us to, I can move some furniture, but only when it's safe and sensible to do so. Shifting a sofa, chair or coffee table, for example, is relatively straightforward, and is included in the quoted price. Some items are too heavy or fragile to be moved, though, without risk of damage to the furniture itself or the rest of the room (or me). Other items, like bookcases, may contain fragile ornaments or expensive electronic equipment.

If  you would like me to move something, we ask that you remove any fragile contents first, prior to our arrival. Equally, if there is anything you would like us NOT to move, let us know.  I will discuss this with you when I survey the job during the quotation visit.
Yes.  I will use products and methods specifically designed for the safe cleaning of aniline leather.  This is crucial, as not only is this the most expensive leather to buy, it is also the most susceptible to staining and damage, and the hardest to clean. I will make sure that your suite is looked after, and I can apply an optional aniline leather protector as well to keep it looking cleaner for longer after I leave.
Yes. Although extremely powerful (offering up to 600psi hot water injection and triple vacuum extraction), the machine I use is compact enough to be taken in an apartment block lift to any floor.  The hoses I use are also usually long enough to provide access even to three storey houses' upper floors.
Absolutely.  Cleaning cannot repair a damaged or heavily worn carpet or sofa, but it can certainly make a big difference to its appearance.  Why not at least call us for a FREE survey and quotation, and we can advise you then of the likely outcome of a clean?
Yes.  You will be surprised how many stains can be removed after a really thorough professional clean. Some stains, of course, may be "set in" if they have been left untreated for a long time, or may have led to fibre discolouration which is revealed when the stain itself is removed, but cleaning will still usually yield positive results.
Of course.  Depending on the size, type and location of the stain, though, it may be worth cleaning the whole carpet or chair to avoid a noticeable "clean patch".
Life will already have taught you that, the better you look after something, the longer it will last, and the better it will be during its lifetime.  The same is true for carpets and upholstery.

Over time, the fibres used in carpet and upholstery production accumulate ever increasing amounits of soil. Dust and dirt from the garden, pavements, roads - anywhere your feet tread - works its way between the fibres, making them look faded, dull and dirty.  But it does more than that.  Each time you tread or sit on that soil, it grinds against the fibres and actively abrades them, just like sandpaper on wood.  The consequent micro scratches weaken the fibres, meaning they are more likely to lay flat, and they diffract light too, leading to permanent dulling of your carpets' and upholstery's colour.

Cleaning at this stage will help, but it is far better to remove this soil regularly so that your carpet and upholstery stays looking at its best and will not need to be replaced so soon.
Regular vacuuming definitely helps.  It will slow down the rate at which soil invades the fibres of your carpets and chairs, but it cannot replace a full high pressure hot water extraction.  Regular vacuuming combined with a regular scheduled clean is the best way to keep your carpets looking and feeling clean and smelling fresh, along with your chairs and upholstery!
This will, of course, vary.  Costs will depend on whether you just require stain removal, or a full clean, the size of the carpets you need cleaning, or the number of "seats" in your upholstered suite, and whether you would like the addition of carpet or upholstery protection after your clean. The type of treatment will also affect costs, especially for commercial work where either encapsulation, hot water extraction or combined cleaning methods are specified.  I promise always to advise you of the most cost efficient and effective methods during any quotation process.

Yes.  Take a look at the Special Offers section below to find out more. If you are a commercial customer with a large area to clean, we can discuss terms when I arrive to perform a survey and quotation.
Yes. Some clients opt to leave us with a key for larger cleans, or so that we can clean your carpets and upholstery whilst you are out or at work.  I am fully enhanced DBS certified, so you can be sure your home is in safe hands.
Yes. I have full, current enhanced DBS certification.  This means I am cleared to work unsupervised in situations where children and/or vulnerable adults may be present.  I am also subscribed to the DBS update service, which means you can check my enhanced DBS status free of charge to make sure that everything is present and correct.  This is especially useful when I work in schools during term time, or in any other environment where you need to be sure of the safeguarding needs of any children or vulnerable adults.

I understand, too, that schools and offices may require cleaning at times outside the normal working week, and this can be arranged during the survey and quotation process.
Yes.  We can use an encapsulation cleaning system instead of hot water extraction if you need your carpets to dry quickly.  This involves using microfibre pads on a low speed rotary machine which absorb most of the soil, and a cleaning chemical which will dry to tiny crystals, each of which will encapsulate the remaining particles of soil. These are then removed readily by the next scheduled vacuum of your carpets.

This system can also be specified for a six month "maintenance clean" in between  yearly hot water extraction as part of a commercial carpet cleaning package.
